Pendulum Dowsing
The History of Pendulum Dowsing
Like most things of a mystical nature it all started with ancients peoples, primitive cave drawings of a man dowsing with a twig have been dated to be 8,000 years old. The ancient Egyptians provide the first recorded evidence of using a pendulum is on a drawing dated at 4,000 years old and they used them as a means of spiritual healing the same as we do today. Unfortunately much of what they knew about dowsing as with the use of colour for healing has been lost and is yet to be rediscovered. The bible makes many references to dowsing plus a warning about its use, which is why many religious groups are not happy with its use under any circumstances. The ability to dowse is mainly associated with finding water or in mining exploration, its use for that purpose became common during the middle ages and it still used for that purpose today.
Pendulum Magic
There are many claims as to the use and purpose of a pendulum such as; testing food, locating lost objects, missing persons or pets, spirituality information, and personal decision making. There are claims that it can predict the future and bring about an enlightenment to acquire knowledge beyond the scope of the normal human senses. From my experience if used correctly that is true it can do many of the above but there are also pitfalls and limitations especially when using it as a means of divination to predict the future.
Choosing the Right Pendulum
There are many different types of pendulum many of which are just a bit gimmicky, the ones I use for healing all have a specific purpose such as the pentagram pendulum shown.
